About me

 

My name is Reagan Richter, and I'm honored that you'd like to know more about the me! I was born in LA, raised in San Diego- I've lived in Boston, Ashland OR, Seattle WA, back to LA and then finally into the Southern California Desert.

​I've been very fortunate to work in some incredible creative and challenging roles in my professional life- primarily in worlds of fashion design and production. But since moving out to the desert where the creative jobs are few and far between, it’s given me the opportunity to get back to my original passion.... Jewelry.

I used to sneak into my mom’s closet when I was in middle school and high school and smuggle out my favorite pieces of her Native American jewelry and wear it to school. I got caught and punished every time. Every time it was worth it.  When I was about 10 years old I took a class in wire-work and I was adding turquoise beads to sterling chain and making chain mail I couldn’t get enough. While working crazy hours, I didn’t have the time to widen my skill-set until I moved to the desert and found an old school silversmith to give me a few soldering lessons – three to be exact. It became all I could think about. Over the last few years, I’ve widened my skill-set by reading, watching videos on YouTube and studying the beautiful pieces I inherited from my mama. Now I’ve got the bug and don’t ever want to stop making, learning and expanding my knowledge of the craft.
